Most of the hundred-75 North Korean defectors detained Tuesday in Thailand reportedly want to come to South Korea and their transfer will likely be realized soon.

Most of the defectors being held at an immigration camp or non-governmental organizations in the Southeast Asian country want safe passage to the South while some opt for the U.S.

The Thai Immigration Bureau and NGOs say two hundred-60 or so escapees are hiding out in Thailand.

The bureau chief said that all detainees will be prosecuted for illegal entry and be deported.

The North Koreans are believed to have entered Thailand over the past three years through China and Laos.
