Pirates of the Caribbean
Walt Disney’s new fantasy adventure movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” was released on June 6. The movie is one of the most-awaited films of the year, and is a sequel to the hugely successful “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” (2003). It all begins with one old rustic chest that holds the power that rules the sea.

Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) discovers he owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones (Bill Nighy), ruler of the sea and captain of the ghostly “Flying Dutchman.” “You have a debt to pay. You owe Davey Jones your soul. That was the agreement. Time’s up! You are a marked man, Jack Sparrow,” Jones says.

Saying, “I was nothing more than an almost innocent bystander,” Sparrow must find a way to save himself from becoming Jones’ slave and suffering forever. Sparrow’s two other rivals Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) accidentally join the dangerous adventure that could end their lives.

Turner and Swann are sentenced to death for helping notorious pirate Sparrow run away. They, however, are offered freedom in exchange for finding Sparrow’s magic compass that can locate the “Dead Man’s Chest.” The Dead Man’s Chest holds Jones’ beating heart, which is ravaged by a woman he loves.

The three adventurers must find the key to Jones’ chest, and avoid his gigantic sea monster, Kraken. Kraken is a legendary sea beast that can crumple vessels like paper with its huge tentacles. They set out on their journey to find the Dead Man’s Chest, which is at the end of the world.
