 Recently, the fad of trot is sweeping Korea. Before, trot was the least popular music genre enjoyed by the younger generation as many considered it boring. Korean youth usually enjoy listening to rock music, ballads, or R&B.
However, with the emergence of young trot singers like Chang Yoon-jung and Park Hyun-bin, trot has become one of their favorite new genres. With the newly gained popularity, more trot songs are being made, and recently even a trot-featured movie was born! In the movie Masked Dal-ho복면 달호, which was released on February 15, we can enjoy listening to many trot songs sung by talented actors like Cha Tae-hyun and laugh our heads off. Interestingly, the movie was directed by comedian Lee Kyung-gyu.
